Buckwheat honey is a monoflerny honey collected during the flowering period of buckwheat, dark brown in color, sometimes with a reddish tinge. Honey from the flowers of buckwheat has a very pronounced lasting pleasant aroma and delicate taste. Buckwheat honey in liquid form can usually be bought in July, when buckwheat flourishes, but in some regions and in early August.
Unlike light honey, buckwheat contains more iron and protein. The composition of such honey includes many different trace elements: calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, etc.
Buckwheat honey is famous for its tonic and anti-inflammatory properties. Daily use of 1 tablespoon of honey is a good preventive measure for colds. In folk medicine, buckwheat honey is used in the form of tinctures, compresses for the treatment of various diseases of the skin, eyes, in violation of the heart, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, liver, hypertension, pain in the joints. With a lot of iron in its composition, this honey is of great benefit to people with low hemoglobin levels. That is why the inclusion of honey in their diet is often credited to pregnant women and patients with anemia.
